Renplay documentation
TrueNAS
Run Renplay on TrueNAS. A ready-made package is coming.
What works today
Section titled “What works today”TrueNAS SCALE and Community editions run containers as Apps. Datasets give you the two folders. Renplay is a normal container, so you can run it there like any other:
- Create two folders on a disk with room for games: one for games, one for data.
- In Apps, create a container from the image
ghcr.io/renplay-org/renplay(orrenplay/renplayon Docker Hub). Pin a version tag. - Map port 8080 of the container to a port on the NAS.
- Mount the games folder at
/gamesand the data folder at/data. - Make sure the container may write to both folders. The image runs as user and group 1000; if your system cannot give that user access, run the container as a user that owns the folders.
The names of the screens differ between versions of the system, so these steps stay general. The settings are the same as in Docker and Docker Compose, which also lists the options.
Keep /data in your NAS backups. Put a sign-in in front of Renplay before you open it to the
internet: Reverse proxy and HTTPS.
